Computer Integrated Manufacturing - Student Center

TTW, Inc. is pleased to offer a fully functional single user system of WinMan for those students who have purchased the 3rd edition of Computer Integrated Manufacturing by James A. Rehg and Henry W. Kraebber. The WinMan software is included free with the book located on the accompanying CD-ROM Disc.

The following are frequently asked questions about the WinMan demonstration software included with this publication. Please review these before submitting questions to our support staff.

Q: During install I am prompted by my anti-virus software about a malicious script.
A: Sometimes prompted about a file named MSIEXEC.EXE, which is the Microsoft Installer engine. The WinMan install program is instructing the Microsoft Installer engine to ensure that there are not WinMan data files on your hard drive prior to installation. The engine is searching for a folder on the main system drive called TTW and if found removes any WinMan data files.

Q: I've installed the software and I need to know the user id and password:
A: User id = demo and the password = demo (this is on p.23 of the demoguide.pdf)

Q: I've played a bit with it but key files seem to be missing, what do I do?:
A: WinMan is designed to run with key files setup. We've included everything you need to run WinMan. Select the convert program. Select import spreadsheets. Select the OK button. Select the Ok button again. Done. (this is on p.27-29 of the demoguide.pdf)

Q: I've installed the software, logged on, imported data - now what do I do?
A: We've put together a complete day in the life of WinMan for you in the demoguide.pdf located in the docs folder. By following this guide, the student will be walked through entering parts and bills of material, customer relationship management, placing a sales order, running MRP, generating purchase and manufacture orders, receiving material, shipping product, invoicing the customer and receiving payment. Essentially the life cycle of any business.

Q: WinMan “hangs” while trying to finalize a proposed purchase order.
A: Please download the following zip file and extract it into the 'prgrms' folder of your WinMan system. Close WinMan before extracting the updated program file. This issue only affects the student version of WinMan released with the Computer Integrated Manufacturing book.
